Judy’s research titled “Mortality and Distributional Effects of Air Pollution from Integrated Steelmaking in the United States” was one of 24 CMU student research projects entered in the 2025 CMU Energy Week Poster Competition and earned second place!
Park shared:
“I had a great time at Energy Week presenting my poster on the air pollution effects of Integrated Steelmaking in the U.S. These were preliminary results for my first PhD project, which compares the effect of CO2 and air pollution emissions from different iron and steelmaking processes, and the socioeconomic distribution of health damages from pollution. I initially wasn't sure about competing because I'm only in first year and my project isn't fully done, but I'm really glad Valerie encouraged me to because I got a lot of valuable feedback and encouragement from other PhD students, professors, and industry professionals who attended the showcase.”
Congratulations, Judy!
